Mint is Shutting Down 

Remember how we told you Mint was the best budgeting app for college students? Well…Mint is shutting down🫣. Intuit announced that it’s discontinuing the app at the end of the year and encouraging users to migrate over to its Credit Karma app. Some of Mint’s popular features including expense and net worth tracking and credit score monitoring will move to Credit Karma. Unfortunately, the app will no longer support Mint’s current budget tracking features which greatly reduces its value to college students. 

What does this mean?

Well, if you listened to us and downloaded the app, then you’re in the market for a new budgeting app too. Fortunately, there are several alternatives on the market with similar functionality. We’ll be exploring a variety of apps (including Credit Karma) over the next few months and circle back to you in true corporate fashion.

The Black Friday of Travel Deals: Travel Tuesday 

Anyway, on to more exciting news. Anyone else in desperate need to take a trip? Well, mark your calendars because we’re about to hit the Super Bowl of travel deals. Tomorrow, yes tomorrow, Tuesday, November 28 is Travel Tuesday.  

What is Travel Tuesday?

Everyone’s heard of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but Travel Tuesday is THE shopping holiday for the travel industry. This is the only day you can expect to see this many post-Thanksgiving deals on travel. There are insane deals on flights, lodging, all-inclusive resorts, cruises, and more making it the perfect time for students to book solo or group travel. Do I hear a spring break trip calling?

The deal: From now until November 28, members 20% off on Marriott Bonvoy stays at over 6,500 hotels around the world. This offer is valid on stays from November 26, 2023, through January 15, 2024.

PLAY 

The deal: The low-cost Icelandic airline is offering 35% off flights to 8 European destinations until November 28. Flights must depart from Boston (BOS), Baltimore/Washington D.C. (BWI), Newburgh, New York (SWF), or Washington D.C. (IAD) between December 2023 through May 2024.

Porter Airlines
